- If you're under 18, your parent has approved.
- You own the reflections and notes you write.
- Don't misuse the platform — no spam, scraping, or harm to others.
- We can update these terms; material changes are announced.
1 · Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered in India at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], operator of Careers Ahoy!. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2 · Eligibility & parental consent
Careers Ahoy is designed for teens aged 12–18. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must approve your use. We verify this at signup either by the OTP reaching a parent-owned phone, or through a separate parent-email approval.
If you're over 18, you can sign up without parental consent.
3 · Your account
You agree to provide accurate information at signup (your name, grade, country, board). You're responsible for keeping your login secure. If you think someone else has used your account, contact us via privacy@careersahoy.app.
One person, one account. Don't create multiple accounts to get around limits.
4 · Acceptable use
Use Careers Ahoy for its intended purpose — exploring careers. Specifically, do not:
- Scrape, crawl, or automate interactions with the service
- Attempt to bypass rate limits on the AI Companion
- Misuse the Companion by asking for harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
- Upload or send any content that's illegal, hateful, or violates another person's rights
- Impersonate others
- Interfere with service availability
- Reverse-engineer the platform
Violation may result in account suspension or termination.
5 · Your content
You own the reflections, notes, and text you write inside Careers Ahoy. We store them to make the service work — not to use them elsewhere. You can delete them any time from Settings.
By using the Companion, you grant us a limited licence to process your messages through the AI service (Anthropic Claude) strictly for the purpose of responding to you. Your chat content is not used to train the AI without your explicit consent (and never for minors).
6 · The AI Companion
The Companion is designed to ask good questions, not to give definitive career advice. It is not a substitute for a qualified counsellor, mental-health professional, or any licensed professional. If you need real help with a serious issue, talk to a trusted adult or reach out via the emergency and grievance channels listed in the Privacy Policy.
Companion usage is rate-limited. Free tier: 10 messages per session, 3 sessions per day.
7 · Pricing
Careers Ahoy is free to use at launch. We may introduce a Freemium tier in future — existing users will be notified in-app and via email before any pricing change. Anything you've earned (stickers, decisions, reflections) remains yours regardless of tier.
8 · Privacy
Our handling of your data is governed by the Privacy Policy. Short version: we collect the minimum needed; we don't sell; we don't show ads; you can delete everything with one tap.
9 · Intellectual property
The platform, content, pathway simulations, and brand are the property of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] unless otherwise stated. Your personal content (your writing, your journey) belongs to you.
10 · Service availability
We do our best to keep the service running. Planned maintenance is announced in-app. We can't guarantee 100% uptime, and some pathway features may evolve or change over time.
11 · Disclaimers & liability
Careers Ahoy is provided on an "as is" basis. Career decisions are yours alone. We don't warrant that specific pathways will lead to specific outcomes.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (which may be zero for free users).
12 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When changes are material, we'll notify you in-app and by email (if we have yours). Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
13 · Termination
You can stop using Careers Ahoy any time. You can delete your account from Settings → Privacy & data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
14 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the courts of [JURISDICTION — to be confirmed].
